Job description
Join the Ontario Veterinary College as an Assistant Professor in Small Animal Surgery. This full-time, contract position allows you to impact veterinary education and clinical practice starting August 2025. The University of Guelph's Department of Clinical Studies is seeking candidates for two contractually limited positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Ideal applicants will hold a DVM and be Diplomates of ACVS or ECVS. Experience in small animal surgery and teaching is essential, especially in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach clinical surgery to DVM students and residents
- Manage small animal patients at OVC-Health Sciences Centre
- Participate in collaborative or independent research
- Mentor surgical residents and interns regularly
- Share on-call duties with other surgery faculty Requirements:
- DVM degree or equivalent
- ACVS/ECVS Diplomate or residency completion
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in teaching and research preferred
- Ability to manage after-hours surgical cases Contribute to advancing veterinary education and patient care at the Ontario Veterinary College.
