Job Description
Role Summary
This is a greenfield leadership role responsible for building and scaling the company's 3PL vertical from the ground up. The incumbent will drive both business development (50%) and operational setup (50%), establishing a robust logistics ecosystem across warehousing, transportation, and partner networks.
The role requires a hands-on leader who can create, sell, and execute-developing new business opportunities while simultaneously setting up systems, processes, and partnerships to deliver scalable logistics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Revenue Growth (50%)
- Drive new client acquisition for 3PL services across agriculture and allied sectors
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships and revenue streams
- Build and execute the go-to-market strategy for 3PL offerings
- Engage with key clients to understand logistics needs and design customized solutions
- Lead commercial negotiations and close high-value contracts
2. Setup & Operations Build (50%)
- Establish the 3PL function from scratch, including processes, systems, and SOPs
- Identify, onboard, and manage 3PL partners, warehouses, and transport networks
- Design and implement scalable supply chain models for efficiency and cost optimization
- Set up KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics for operations
- Drive technology adoption (WMS, TMS, tracking systems, etc.)
- Ensure smooth coordination across sourcing, operations, and client teams
3. Vendor & Network Management
- Build and manage a strong ecosystem of logistics partners
- Lead contract negotiations and SLAs
- Continuously evaluate partners for cost, service quality, and scalability
4. Leadership & Team Building
- Hire, build, and lead the 3PL team from the ground up
- Foster a high-performance, entrepreneurial culture
- Act as a strategic partner to leadership in scaling the logistics business
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 12-16 years of experience in 3PL, logistics, or supply chain leadership roles
- Proven experience in setting up logistics/3PL operations from scratch
- Strong track record in business development and revenue generation
- Deep understanding of warehousing, transportation, and supply chain design
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build, sell, and scale simultaneously
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
