Fundraiser/Canvasser for Non-Profits

One Sixty International are looking for outgoing, confident and passionate activists to join our team in Washington, D.C. - get paid to fight poverty and make the world a better place!

Pay: $20/hr (increasing to $24/hr) + uncapped bonuses

Hours: Tuesday to Saturday 10am-6pm

The leading face to face fundraising agency in the USA, UK and Malaysia, One Sixty work with incredible non-profits, including Children International, The Nature Conservancy and the ASPCA to raise vital funds so that they can continue to do the amazing work that they do!

The Role: As part of a high-energy, sociable team of likeminded people, you will be an ambassador for Children International - an incredible humanitarian non-profit. Their child sponsorship program helps children get the healthcare, education, life skills and confidence they need to create lasting change in their lives and communities.

This is a field-based position which will see you and your team working in different busy public areas, streets, and events in Washington, D.C. each day. As a fundraiser/canvasser, you'll be engaging in conversations with members of the public, and inspiring them to become a supporter of Children International through a regular financial gift. Each and every conversation you have will help children around the world to break the cycle of poverty for good!

You don't need to have any previous experience in fundraising or canvassing - we give you (great!) paid training to fully prepare you for the role!

What We're Looking For

• Confident communicators who aren't afraid to strike up a conversation!
• Activists at heart! A passion or interest in poverty alleviation, social justice or humanitarian causes.
• An unshakeable belief that each and every conversation can make an impact.

People who have previously worked in retail, customer service, hospitality/food service, sales or other people-focussed positions will find they have a ton of transferrable skills for this position! Likewise, if you have experience in political canvassing and community organizing, your skillset will translate to this position. We also find people from creative backgrounds (including performing arts and acting) thrive in the role. This is an ideal position for recent graduates too, and those looking to take their first step in the non-profit/charity sector.
