Job description

Role Overview:

As a Senior Accountant at V. Group, you will be responsible for achieving required performance levels in terms of quality, efficiency, and timely manner. You will identify opportunities for process improvement and work towards implementing these improvements in the Global Shared Service (Finance Shared Service Centre of V. Group).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general accounting and reporting tasks
  • Process journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and provisions
  • Process allocations and period end adjustments
  • Post and reconcile intercompany transactions
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform consolidations
  • Prepare trial balance and post management adjustments
  • Adhere to accounting procedures and guidelines
  • Perform fixed-asset accounting tasks such as maintaining fixed-asset master data files and recording additions, retires, adjustments, enhancements, revaluations, transfers, and depreciation expense
  • Reconcile fixed-asset ledger and perform financial reporting including business unit financial statements, cash flows, and Inter Company reports
  • Assist with budget preparation, revenue projections, expenditure forecasting, and annual audit preparations
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and non-compliance issues
  • Contribute to the development of accounting systems, programs, and procedures
  • Prepare business unit reports, HFM reports, and internal revenue tax filings
  • Ensure Group financial policies compliance and provide trainings to new hires
  • Audit transactions processed by Accountants and support Team Leaders in administrative tasks
  • Work on process improvement projects and share best practices with team members
  • Support Team Leaders in reviewing consolidation and month-end reporting of financial statements
  • Understand stakeholder requirements and exceed expectations

Qualifications Required:

  • Full-time graduation in Commerce or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in GL Accounting
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot table, understanding keyboard shortcuts)
  • Excellent accounting knowledge and written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, business, and telephone skills
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment with good organizational and time management skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, MS PowerPoint, and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP software is desirable
  • Fluency in English and additional foreign languages is a plus
