Position Overview
We are looking for a creative and passionate 2D Animator to join our Game Development team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of animation fundamentals and a keen eye for movement, timing, and visual storytelling. The role involves creating engaging character animations, visual effects, UI animations, and interactive game assets for mobile and casual games.
You will work closely with Game Designers, Artists, and Developers to bring game characters, environments, and gameplay experiences to life through high-quality animations.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 2D animations for characters, environments, props, and game assets.
- Develop character movements including walk cycles, idle animations, attack sequences, transitions, and special actions.
- Create sprite-based and skeletal animations using industry-standard tools.
- Design and animate visual effects (VFX) such as particle effects, rewards, transitions, explosions, and interactive elements.
- Collaborate with Game Designers and Developers to ensure animations align with gameplay requirements.
- Animate UI elements and in-game interfaces when required.
- Optimize animation assets for performance across mobile, web, and PC gaming platforms.
- Maintain consistency with the game's art style, visual quality, and animation standards.
- Organize and manage animation files, assets, and project documentation efficiently.
- Participate in creative discussions and contribute ideas to improve the overall player experience.
- Ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks while maintaining quality standards.
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, spacing, anticipation, squash and stretch, and character movement.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following tools:
- Spine 2D
- Adobe Animate
- Adobe After Effects
- Toon Boom Harmony
- Sprite Sheet Animation
- Skeletal Animation
- Character Rigging
- Visual Effects (VFX)
- Basic understanding of:
- Unity Game Engine
- Mobile Game Development Workflow
- Asset Optimization Techniques
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Animation, Multimedia, Graphic Design, Game Art, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in animation software/tools will be an added advantage.
Experience Required
- 0–2 years of professional experience as a 2D Animator.
- Prior experience in the Gaming Industry will be preferred.
- Experience working on Mobile Games, Casual Games, Hyper-Casual Games, or Interactive Applications is desirable.
- Freshers with an exceptional portfolio and strong animation fundamentals may also apply.
- Candidates must share a portfolio/demo reel showcasing their animation work.

- Understanding of game art pipelines and production workflows.
