We are a small, close-knit business growing alongside our community, with exciting upcoming expansions like our smoothie and snack bar. We pride ourselves on offering science-backed nutritional guidance and exceptional service to every person who walks through our doors.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Health & Wellness Advisor to join our team for a minimum of 30 hours a week. Our current team consists of a certified nutritionist, two full-timers, and one part-timer, plus one additional part-timer currently on maternity leave. Joining us means stepping into a supportive, adaptable environment where everyone pitches in, and where you'll have the unique opportunity to work directly alongside a certified nutrition professional.

You won't just be ringing up purchases; you will be an educator and a guide. Your primary role will be to provide outstanding customer service while leveraging your knowledge of nutrition to help customers navigate our extensive selection of vitamins, proteins, and specialty supplements.

As a Dual-Role Health & Wellness Advisor, you will wear two hats. Some hours you’ll be on the retail floor guiding customers through their supplement journeys; other times, you’ll be behind the bar whipping up superfood smoothies. This role requires exceptional multitasking skills, a genuine passion for wellness, and a flexible mindset tailored to a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Wellness & Supplement Advisory:
• Greet and consult with customers to understand their health goals.
• Provide accurate, friendly information on vitamins, supplements, and sports nutrition.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the products on our shelves.
• Cafe & Smoothie Bar Operations:
• Prepare and serve high-quality smoothies, juices, and cafe items efficiently.
• Maintain a spotlessly clean, sanitized, and organized cafe workstation.
• Follow recipes precisely while handling special dietary requests/allergies.
• Retail Excellence:
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, process payments, and handle cash.
• Stock shelves, manage inventory rotation (FIFO), and ensure the store looks pristine.
• Bring positive, adaptable energy to a changing retail schedule (including weekends and evenings).

Store Hours & Scheduling

• Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Weekends: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Availability: Flexible availability throughout the week (including weekends) is required to help balance our small team's schedule.

What Is Expected From You

• Work a minimum of 30 hours per week, maintaining flexible availability throughout the week.
• Provide welcoming, personalized customer service by actively listening to customers' health and wellness goals.
• Educate shoppers on our products, explaining the benefits, optimal forms, and uses of various vitamins, proteins, and specialty supplements in an accessible way.
• Handle daily retail operations smoothly, including processing transactions, managing inventory, and restocking shelves.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting environment throughout the market.
• Collaborate effectively with our existing staff, bringing a helpful and adaptable attitude to our small business dynamic.

What We Are Looking For

• A strong foundational knowledge of dietary supplements, vitamins, minerals, and sports nutrition (like protein powders).
• Asset (Not Mandatory): An undergraduate diploma or certificate in Nutrition, Dietetics, Kinesiology, Holistic Health, Homeopathy, Ayurveda or a closely related field.
• Asset (Not Required): Proven experience in the nutrition, wellness, or supplement retail field. We are very happy to welcome someone with a great attitude who is eager to learn!
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, specifically the ability to translate nutritional information into friendly, easy-to-understand advice.
• A genuine passion for holistic health, fitness, and helping others achieve their wellness goals.
• Reliability and a team-player mindset that thrives in a small business environment.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of a retail environment (e.g., standing during shifts, light lifting for inventory restocking).
