Role
As an Inventory Specialist at Northwood, you will be an integral part of our Supply Chain team, ensuring that materials, hardware, and components flow seamlessly through our Torrance manufacturing facility. You’ll play a key role in enabling rapid production and deployment of our systems, maintaining precision and reliability across all inventory operations.
We operate in a lean, transparent, high-trust environment that rewards initiative and adaptability. You’ll work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and operations to ensure our inventory systems scale with our growth.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and store raw materials, parts, and hardware to support manufacturing and R&D operations
- Pick, organize, and stage components to keep production running efficiently and ensure build accuracy.
- Verify incoming materials for conformity, quantity, part numbers, and damage-free condition
- Maintain strict material handling and traceability practices
- Monitor shelf-life storage and perform stock rotations to ensure part integrity
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical and system inventories
- Record all inventory movements and transactions in our ERP system with attention to detail
- Support inventory replenishment and continuous improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain team
- Perform cycle counts and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with safety standards
Basic Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with computer software, including spreadsheets, email, and resource planning programs
- Understanding of inventory and kitting processes
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to stand for extended periods (4–6 hours/day) and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of inventory control or warehouse experience
- Experience operating forklifts and related inventory equipment
- Familiarity with Manufacturo or other manufacturing software (ERP/MRP)
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth, or startup environments
- Prior experience in aerospace, electronics, or related manufacturing fields
Additional Requirements
- This position requires successfully obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret Security Clearance as a condition of employment. While the clearance may not be immediately necessary upon hire, we encourage you to initiate the application process promptly upon accepting this offer. Your ability to secure the necessary clearance is essential for fulfilling key responsibilities of the role. Should you be unable to obtain it, Northwood Space reserves the right to modify or terminate your employment to align with optional needs.

- Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying equipment up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- This role requires being on-site 5 days per week
Compensation
Compensation at Northwood Space is based on role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary depending on job-related skills, education, experience, and technical expertise. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at Northwood.
