AWS Systems Engineer (Windows/AWS) – Top Secret Clearance Required

Hybrid | Multiple U.S. Locations

Salary: $100,000 – $180,000 + full benefits

Clearance: Active Top Secret required

Northwest Talent Solutions is recruiting for a cleared AWS Systems Engineer to support a mission-critical federal program building next-generation cloud infrastructure and analytics platforms.

This role is part of a high-impact engineering team responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining Windows-based systems in AWS environments that support advanced data exploitation, production, and dissemination capabilities.

The ideal candidate has strong Windows Server administration experience combined with AWS cloud infrastructure expertise and enjoys working closely with engineering teams to deliver secure and scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Build, deploy, and maintain Windows Server environments in AWS cloud infrastructure

Provision and manage EC2 instances and cloud resources across development, test, and operational environments

Deploy and maintain custom, COTS, and GOTS applications in secure environments

Support patching, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of cloud-based systems

Collaborate with engineering and program leadership to deliver mission systems

Participate in system architecture design and infrastructure planning

Work within agile software development environments supporting application deployments

Maintain system documentation and architecture diagrams

Required Qualifications:

Active Top Secret Security Clearance

Ability to obtain CI Polygraph post-hire

AWS cloud experience, including EC2 and related services

Strong experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop operating systems

Experience supporting system deployments across multiple environments (dev/test/prod)

Understanding of system architecture and infrastructure design

Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education / Experience

Bachelor's degree with 4+ years relevant experience

OR

Master's degree with 2+ years relevant experience

OR

Additional experience in lieu of degree

DoD 8570 compliance required

Preferred Experience:

AWS services such as Lambda, S3, and cloud infrastructure automation

Experience supporting geospatial platforms (ESRI ArcGIS)

CI/CD pipeline development and deployment automation

Architecture diagram development and system documentation

Experience with Jira, Confluence, and collaboration tools

Microsoft or AWS certifications
