Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has multiple openings for Staff Hardware-Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. These positions are located in Baltimore, MD.
This individual will lead a cross-discipline engineering team typically greater than 10 people for a medium to high-risk project and interface with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct cross-functional hardware engineering teams during proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery phases of products in development and production phases
- Support proposal development and new program acquisition efforts
- Interpret statements of work assigned by program leadership
- Develop and execute project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts
- Interface with functional departments to secure team staffing
- Work with suppliers and be able to articulate project requirements
- Brief internal and customer leadership on progress of work assigned
- Perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings.
This role is contingent upon candidates having a current/active Secret Clearance.
This role is contingent upon Program Award.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM-related discipline with (12) years of related experience, or Master's Degree and (10) years of related experience.
- Must have a current/active Secret Clearance. Secret Clearance is required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.
- 4 years of Experience as Hardware Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, Technical lead, or other leadership role in a program office or business function with demonstrated team building, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- 4 years of Engineering leadership experience in a team environment
- 4 years of experience in the Hardware Design, Manufacturing or Test process
- 4 years of experience with developing and executing project schedules
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in hardware development of complex RF or Digital systems and sub-systems
- Experience with certification as a Control Account Manager (CAM) managing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) projects
- The selected candidates are expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experienced in utilizing the Engineering Design Process for the planning and execution of projects.
- PMP certification
- Active and current Top Secret government clearance
