Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a General Manufacturing Manager 1 based out of Baltimore, MD.
You will be responsible for the direct supervision of approximately 25 -30 represented (union) and non-represented employees and processes in a Manufacturing environment. You will work independently across organizations; manage the use of consumables to achieve budget targets; assign and manage represented EMS Operators and/or Ceramic Material and Process Specialist to maximize efficiency and achieve target productive yields; implement our process improvements to improve affordability, quality, and schedule; and perform required SAP/MES transactions to manage Operator and/or M&P Specialist.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Direct and coordinate the activities to plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules, in conjunction with Material Requirements Planning, to meet production/delivery requirements
Oversees the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that equipment, materials, and services are available, as needed
Assign and manage staff to maximize efficiency and achieve schedule and target productive yields
Performs require SAP/MES transactions to manage personnel, planning and financials
Provides specific direction and training, as required
Ensures 5S practices within cell areas
Utilizes both internal and external resources, and coordinates cell and functional activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, inventory control, transportation, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of professional experience in a Manufacturing, Production or Engineering environment; Master’s Degree with 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing, Production or Engineering environment; 9 years of work experience in a Manufacturing, Production or Engineering environment may be considered in lieu of degree
Experience with coaching and/or mentoring colleagues and/or teams
Experience with SAP/MES
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Level Security Clearance
U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
Active U.S. Government Secret clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or other STEM area
Previous project or personnel management experience
Prior experience working in a represented (union) environment
Lean Manufacturing Experience
Technical and/or hands-on Military experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $95,400.00 - $143,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
