Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Grade 4 Social Work Professional Leader to join the Mental Health Division Allied Health for a full time fixed term period until 15th January 2027
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital.
In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role
This senior leadership role holds senior clinical and educational responsibility for Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Social Work services across a multi‑campus health service.
This role sits within the mental health Division and will hold a portfolio of either bed based or community mental health services.
Core functions include workforce development, leading change, contributing to organisational strategic priorities, retention and recruitment.
Coordinating supervision frameworks, providing supervision and clinical support to staff—in collaboration with Clinical Educators. Proactively contributing to service development and transformational change, and maintaining a strong focus on continuous quality improvement.
The position also leads designated portfolios aligned with Mental Health Division strategic priorities and is accountable for achieving defined portfolio performance outcomes
