Job Summary (Senior Ab Initio Developer / Data Engineer)

• Design, deploy, maintain, and scale both cloud and on-premises big data and enterprise data management infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and data access APIs.
• Prepare, manipulate, and process data using various technologies and platforms.
• Analyze data with statistical techniques and generate reports to support business insights.
• Translate quantitative data findings into actionable business recommendations.
• Support analytics and data-driven decision-making for key projects.
• Design and conduct quality-control procedures across systems and datasets.
• Build data models in alignment with warehouse architecture and metadata standards.
• Create frameworks for collecting both structured and unstructured data.
• Apply ETL/ELT techniques to integrate large datasets from diverse sources.
• Implement best practices for data auditing, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Maintain professional expertise through continuous learning and industry engagement.
• Collaborate with analysts and support daily platform operations, migrations, and tech stack updates.
• Contribute hands-on technical work and participate in design discussions.
• Work independently as a self-starter, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating in a team-oriented environment.
• Requires experience with Ab Initio, Cloudera, Hadoop, AWS, and data engineering in the healthcare industry (preferably BCBS).
• Strong skills in SQL, NoSQL, Python, and familiarity with data quality, data collection, and modeling tools.
