At Nooks, we value innovation, collaboration, and a service-first mindset.</p></div><p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE:</strong></p> <p>The Space Component Security Specialist serves as a dedicated security advisor providing direct, on-site support to<strong> </strong>Space Component Commands. Operating within the Integrated Security Enterprise (ISE) framework, your primary mission is to ensure the security of theater-specific space operations. Secondarily, you will act as a critical link to headquarters-based security discipline experts by collecting operational data and providing field insights that inform the development of new security policies, processes, and digital products.</p> <p>Each role is aligned with a specific geographic theater - this opening will be on-site at the following location and aligned to the following theater:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Vandenberg SFB, CA:</strong> Supporting <strong>INDOPAC</strong> operations.</li> </ul> <h4>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</h4> <ul> <li><strong>Direct Command Support:</strong> Serve as the primary security point of contact for Space Component Command leadership and staff to ensure mission-critical assets are protected.</li> <li><strong>Data Collection &amp; Reporting:</strong> Gather field-level data and operational metrics to provide security discipline experts with the information needed to refine ISE policies and digital tools.</li> <li><strong>Physical Security:&nbsp;</strong> <ul> <li> <ul> <li>Ability/awareness to support construction security activities for new SCIF builds or modifications to existing facilities.</li> <li>Assist with the review of construction plans, drawings, and change requests to ensure alignment with physical security requirements.</li> <li>Coordinate with facilities, construction, and IT teams to ensure maintenance and upgrades are executed in compliance with ICD 705.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <strong></strong></li> <li><strong>Program Protection:</strong> Implement and maintain Program Protection Plans (PPPs) for sensitive space systems and ground components within the theater.</li> <li><strong>Liaison Operations:</strong> Coordinate security protocols with host nation partners and inter-agency stakeholders to ensure alignment across the theater of operations.</li> <li><strong>Risk Mitigation:</strong> Conduct localized risk assessments and vulnerability analyses of space-related facilities to identify and report security gaps.</li> <li><strong>Security Readiness:</strong> Deliver specialized security briefings and training to command personnel to ensure a high state of readiness and compliance.</li> <li><strong>Feedback Loop:</strong> Provide continuous feedback to the ISE Product team regarding the performance and utility of digital security products in the field.</li> </ul> <h4>THE SKILLSET:</h4> <ul> <li><strong>Experience:</strong> 5–8 years of professional experience in government or industrial security, specifically supporting DoD or Intelligence Community (IC) programs.</li> <li><strong>Security Breadth:</strong> Must possess broad, hands-on experience across <strong>two of the three security disciplines, including Physical Security (PHYSEC), alongside: </strong>Personnel Security (PERSEC), and/or Industrial Security (INDUSEC); Information Security (INFOSEC) experience is “nice to have.”</li> <li><strong>Physical Security Depth:</strong>&nbsp; <ul> <li> <ul> <li>Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of ICD 705 and related DoD/IC physical security policies.</li> <li>Systems: Experience with physical access control systems, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and alarm monitoring processes.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Clearance:</strong> <strong>Active Secret security clearance is required</strong>, with the ability to be granted an <strong>Interim Top Secret (TS)</strong> and subsequent SCI eligibility. Candidate must be a United States citizen and capable of maintaining eligibility up to the Top Secret/SCI level within 45 days of hire.</li> <li><strong>Space Domain Knowledge:</strong> Proven understanding of the unique security requirements associated with space systems and ground stations.</li> <li><strong>Information Management:</strong> Ability to accurately collect, analyze, and report technical security data to remote expert teams.</li> <li><strong>Education:</strong> Bachelor’s degree in National Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field (additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).</li> <li><strong>Travel:</strong> Up to 10%.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in&nbsp;<strong>Information Security (INFOSEC)</strong> and professional certifications such as SFPC, SPSC, or CISSP.</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>Salary Range for all departments</p></div><div class="title">Salary Range</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$135,000</span><span class="divider">&mdash;</span><span>$155,000 USD</span></div></div></div>
