About Nexus Finance
Nexus Finance is a Montreal based business financing firm helping Canadian and American entrepreneurs access working capital fast. We work with a wide network of lenders and move significantly faster than traditional banks. We are building a high performance closing team in our brand new Ville Saint-Laurent office and we are looking for experienced closers who want to earn serious money in a role that rewards both skill and hustle.
The Role
This is a full cycle closing role with two income streams built into it.
The first is our in house BDR team. They qualify merchants, collect documents, and hand you warm pre-vetted files ready to close. Your job is to present funding options, handle objections, and get deals funded.
The second is your own pipeline. Your base salary is compensation for showing up and working the phones. When you are not closing BDR generated files you are dialing your own prospects, building your own relationships, and generating your own deals. AEs who self source earn a significantly higher commission rate than on assisted deals. The more you hunt the more you earn.
This is not a role for someone who waits for leads to land in their lap. It is a role for someone who wants to earn from both sides of the pipeline and build a high income career in business financing.
What Your Day Actually Looks Like
Closing deals — 50% of your time. Presenting approved funding offers to pre-qualified merchants, handling objections, negotiating terms, and securing signed agreements. Your primary metric is funded volume.
Outbound dialing — 20% of your time. Cold calling and self sourcing your own pipeline on top of BDR generated leads. Building relationships with business owners through your own outreach. Relentless follow up across calls, SMS, and email until a deal is done or definitively dead.
Pipeline management — 15% of your time. Keeping every file current in our CRM, following up on outstanding documents, and moving deals from offer to signed to funded as fast as possible. Time to fund is a metric that matters here.
Document and compliance — 10% of your time. Ensuring every file is complete and accurate before submission. Every KYC item, void cheque, consent form, and ID verified and in order. Zero funding delays is the standard.
Relationship building — 5% of your time. Staying connected with funded merchants as a trusted advisor. Setting honest expectations on renewals. Building the kind of long term rapport that generates repeat business and referrals without you having to ask.

Pre-qualified warm transfers from our in house BDR team. You have a consistent flow of vetted merchants coming your way in addition to your own outbound efforts. Full CRM with automated pipeline tracking, e-signature, and commission reporting. Dedicated submissions team to handle lender submissions so you stay on the phone not doing paperwork. Proven scripts, objection handling guides, and ongoing coaching. A competitive floor environment where top performers are recognized and rewarded.
Requirements
This role is for experienced closers only. We are not hiring for potential. We are hiring for proven performance.
Minimum 3 years of closing experience in MCA, business financing, mortgage, insurance, equipment leasing, or high ticket B2B phone sales. A documented track record of hitting or exceeding monthly revenue targets. Fully bilingual in English and French.
Comfortable cold calling and building your own pipeline in addition to working warm transfers. Relentless follow up mentality across every channel until a deal is done or definitively dead. Able to manage 20 to 40 live files simultaneously without losing track of details.
Coachable and willing to follow a proven process regardless of prior experience. Must be fully available Monday to Friday in office at our Ville Saint-Laurent location.
Compensation
Base salary of $40,000 per year earned through daily floor presence and dialing activity. Tiered commission structure based on deal source. Self sourced deals earn a significantly higher rate than BDR assisted deals. Full commission details are discussed during the interview. Top performers who build their own pipeline alongside BDR generated deals consistently clear $100,000 to $150,000 in their first full year. No cap, no ceiling.
