Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.</strong></em></p> <p>New Era Technology is seeking an <strong>Advanced AV Installation Technician</strong> to support complex audiovisual systems integration projects across commercial environments. This senior‑level role is responsible for installing, configuring, commissioning, and servicing professional audio, video, control, and collaboration systems while ensuring exceptional quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.</p> <p>This position is ideal for an experienced technician who can independently execute complex installations, lead and direct onsite crews, and act as a technical authority in the field.</p> <h2>Key Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Installing, configuring, and commissioning professional AV systems, including: <ul> <li>Video conferencing solutions (Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Webex)</li> <li>Large‑format displays, video walls, and projection systems</li> <li>DSP‑based audio systems and sound reinforcement</li> <li>Integrated AV control systems</li> </ul> </li> <li>Interpret and work from wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, rack elevations, and signal flow drawings</li> <li>Perform custom fabrication and termination of: <ul> <li>Structured cabling (CAT6/CAT6A)</li> <li>Fiber optic, audio, and control cabling</li> <li>Equipment rack build‑outs, dressing, and labeling</li> </ul> </li> <li>Utilize diagnostic tools such as spectrum analyzers, multi‑meters, and cable verifiers/certifiers</li> <li>Troubleshoot complex AV systems during installation and post‑deployment</li> <li>Lead, direct, and coordinate onsite installation crews, including subcontractors and junior technicians</li> <li>Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work meets project plans, schedules, and quality standards</li> <li>Operate and safely work from ladders, lifts, and MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) as required</li> <li>Assist with preventive maintenance and service calls for internal and external customers</li> <li>Accurately complete service tickets, documentation, and inventory tracking</li> <li>Maintain working knowledge of company software systems used for daily operations</li> <li>Ensure full compliance with company and customer safety programs</li> <li>Maintain a professional jobsite demeanor and provide excellent customer service</li> </ul> <h2>Required Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>3–5+ years of professional AV or Pro Audio installation experience</li> <li>Proven experience leading installation crews or acting as a lead technician</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of: <ul> <li>Audio, video, and control systems</li> <li>AV signal flow, termination standards, and integration best practices</li> </ul> </li> <li>Experience with professional rack fabrication and structured cabling</li> <li>Ability to independently manage tasks and drive projects to completion</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Proficiency with PC or Apple computers and business software (e.g., Microsoft Office)</li> <li>Valid and current driver’s license</li> <li>Ability to safely operate MEWPs / aerial lifts (certification preferred)</li> <li>CTS or CTS‑I</li> </ul> <h2>Preferred Certifications (Not Required)</h2> <ul> <li>Crestron, Q‑SYS, Biamp, or similar manufacturer certifications</li> <li>OSHA 10 or OSHA 30</li> </ul> <h2>Core Competencies</h2> <ul> <li>Strong leadership and crew coordination skills</li> <li>Professional, punctual, organized, and detail‑focused</li> <li>Advanced troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability</li> <li>Superior customer service skills</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines under pressure</li> <li>Collaborative team mindset with strong interpersonal communication</li> <li>Commitment to safety, quality, and best‑practice installation standards</li> </ul> <h2>Physical &amp; Work Requirements</h2> <ul> <li>Ability to lift and move equipment 60 lbs. or more on a repetitive basis</li> <li>Ability to stand and work on concrete floors for extended periods</li> <li>Ability to lift materials from floor height to overhead during installations</li> <li>Ability to climb and work at heights more than 25 feet</li> <li>Ability to operate ladders, lifts, and MEWPs</li> <li>Work conducted on construction sites, finished spaces, shop environments, and outdoors as required</li> <li>Typical work hours are 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; overtime, weekends, and alternate shifts may be required based on project demands</li> </ul> <h2>Travel <span style="font-size: 14px;">Travel is determined on a project basis.
