Job Description
The Opportunity
New Connections Counseling Center is looking for a part-time licensed therapist in Maryland to join our team. We are a feminist-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming group practice in Baltimore’s Hampden neighborhood, and we take our work seriously while maintaining a culture where humor, authenticity, and mutual support are the norm.
This is a flexible, part-time role for someone who wants to see 10–15 clients per week — whether you’re balancing another position, building toward full-time, or intentionally keeping a smaller caseload. We provide the infrastructure (billing, liability coverage, referrals, office space, HIPAA-compliant tools) so you can focus on clinical work.
This is a session-based position with no guaranteed salary floor and no benefits. Your income is a direct reflection of the caseload you build and maintain.
What Makes Us Different
- Transparent pay: You earn a flat session rate regardless of whether the client or insurer pays us. No waiting on pay — if you completed a session, you will be paid during that pay period. No surprises about what you’re owed.
- Full practice support: Liability coverage, HIPAA-compliant tools, billing, and admin — all handled.
- Growth built in: We match you with your preferred populations and support your ongoing clinical development through consultation and mentorship.
- Referrals and marketing: We actively invest in marketing you to fill your caseload through things like Google Ads, Psychology Today, social media, and our website.
- A team that has your back: Consultation, connection, and community — without micromanagement.
- Flexible scheduling: You set your own schedule within our available hours. Some evening or weekend availability is required.
- Earning potential that scales: Session rates increase at higher volumes. If you decide to grow your caseload, your rate grows with it.
- Retention bonus: Quarterly bonus for clients you retain beyond their initial sessions.
Who You Are
You’re a clinician who takes ownership of your work. Even at part-time volume, you manage your caseload proactively and follow up when clients drift. You’re comfortable with the rhythms of session-based income — some weeks are fuller than others.
You value clinical independence yet want a team around you for support and consultation. You’re looking for a practice that treats you like a professional.
You want somewhere to put down roots, even at part-time hours — deep client relationships, a clinical identity that’s yours. You’re looking for a place where hard work pays off.
We’re Especially Interested in Experience With
- Trauma-informed modalities (EMDR, Brainspotting, TF-CBT, Somatic Experiencing)
- Neurodivergence (ADHD and/or Autism spectrum)
- OCD treatment using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
- Adolescent therapy
- Couples therapy (if you don’t have this experience, we will support you in your training)
- Sex therapy
You don’t need to check every box. If you bring enthusiasm, clinical skill, and a willingness to grow, we want to hear from you.
Requirements
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field
- Fully licensed in Maryland (LCSW-C, LCPC, or equivalent) with no supervision requirements
- Responsive, affirming, and relational clinical approach
- Comfort with building and managing your own caseload
- Willingness to participate in group consultation and contribute to team culture
- Alignment with values of a feminist-informed and socially conscious practice
Compensation
- Session rate: Starts with $80 per session depending on degree level and volume tier. Couples sessions earn higher rates.
- Earning potential: A part-time clinician seeing 10–15 sessions/week can earn $55,000+ annually.
- Malpractice insurance: Covered by the practice.
- Retention bonus: Quarterly, based on client retention metrics.
- Retirement match: After year one.
Note: This position does not include health insurance, dental insurance, PTO, HSA or retirement match. These benefits are available only to full-time clinicians.
