Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend APIs and services using Python and AWS-based infrastructure
• Design and implement REST APIs and scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems
• Set up and manage cloud infrastructure — compute, storage, databases, and monitoring (AWS: ECS/Lambda, S3, RDS)
• Build async data processing pipelines integrating LLM services
• Design and optimise relational database schemas for structured and semi-structured data
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for reliable and repeatable deployments
• Ensure security best practices — encryption, access controls, audit logging
• Integrate enterprise-grade authentication systems (OAuth2, JWT)

Must-Have Requirements

• 4–6 years of professional experience in backend engineering with Python
• Hands-on production experience with AWS (ECS and/or Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM)
• Strong PostgreSQL skills including schema design and query optimisation
• Experience designing scalable, fault-tolerant systems
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring systems
• Experience implementing authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong problem-solving skills and clear communication

Good-to-Have Requirements

• Experience integrating LLM APIs (preferably Amazon Bedrock) into production systems
• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, including evaluation and guardrails
• Familiarity with vector databases and embedding models
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools
• Prior work in health-tech, fintech, or domains with strict data handling and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA-like systems)
