Google Cloud Platform L3 Engineer - ( IT Operations & Infrastructure )

We are seeking an experienced CSP-GCP L3 Engineer to manage and optimize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. The role involves designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and securing cloud infrastructure using Google Compute Engine, Kubernetes (GKE), Cloud Storage, Networking, IAM, Security, Automation (Terraform, Ansible), DevOps, and Big Data Services. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in multi-cloud architectures, high availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization. Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• GCP Cloud Administration:
• Architect, deploy, and manage GCP Compute Engine, Kubernetes (GKE), App Engine, Cloud Run, and Functions.
• Optimize GCP IAM policies, roles, service accounts, and organization-level security policies.
• Manage Cloud Storage, Filestore, Persistent Disks, Coldline, and Archival Storage.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, and Terraform.
• Networking & Security:
• Configure and troubleshoot VPC, VPN, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud Load Balancing, and Cloud Armor (WAF).
• Implement Google Security Command Center (SCC), IAM best practices, and compliance policies.
• Secure service-to-service communication using Private Google Access, Cloud NAT, and Identity-Aware Proxy (IAP).
• Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
• Automate provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, and Deployment Manager.
• Implement auto-scaling policies for Kubernetes (GKE) and VM instances.
• Develop custom automation scripts using Python, Bash, and gcloud CLI.
• Monitoring & Performance Optimization:
• Monitor workloads using Google Operations Suite (Stackdriver), Cloud Logging, and Prometheus/Grafana.
• Optimize resource utilization, cost, and performance using GCP Recommender and cost management tools.
• Troubleshoot latency, performance, and reliability issues across cloud workloads.
• Backup, Disaster Recovery & High Availability:
• Design multi-region and multi-cloud disaster recovery strategies.
• Implement Cloud Storage lifecycle policies, snapshot-based recovery, and data replication solutions.
• Configure high-availability clusters and failover mechanisms for critical workloads.
• Big Data & Database Management:
• Deploy and manage BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, Firestore, and Memorystore.
• Optimize database queries, indexing, and replication strategies.
• Work with real-time data pipelines using Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
• Collaboration & Documentation:
• Work closely with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to ensure seamless cloud operations.
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
• Provide L3-level support, root cause analysis (RCA), and mentoring to L1/L2 engineers. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Deep expertise in Google Cloud Infrastructure, GKE, IAM, Networking, and Storage.
• Strong experience with Terraform, Ansible, Python, and shell scripting for automation.
• Proficiency in GCP security best practices, encryption, key management, and compliance.
• Hands-on experience with database administration (Cloud SQL, Spanner, BigQuery, Firestore).
• Advanced troubleshooting skills for networking, performance, and system failures in GCP.

Preferred additional Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools like Jenkins, GitOps (ArgoCD), and Kubernetes Helm charts.
• Knowledge of big data, AI/ML, and analytics tools in GCP.
• Exposure to Google Workspace, Cloud Identity, and enterprise-level GCP implementations. Following are the key skills and experience expected out of the candidate
• Bachelors in Communications / Computer Science OR Software Engineering OR related technical degree OR Experience
• 7+ years of experience in GCP cloud administration and enterprise infrastructure.
• Proven track record in designing, implementing, and optimizing GCP solutions.
• Experience with cloud automation, security, and high availability.
