Overview:


 

36 hrs/week, nights, 7p-7a, every third weekend rotation, holiday rotation.

This is NOT a weekends only or contingent position.

Base pay $20.50/hr plus applicable shift differentials. Benefits eligible.


 

Job Description Summary:


 

Greets and registers critical and trauma patients. Answers telephone calls, schedules appointments, and facilitates unit communication. Coordinates admissions paperwork and communications, contacts on-call providers, and pulls and files medical charts when indicated.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides excellent customer service to patients and families by applying best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Register’s patients in critical care and trauma situations. Obtains accurate patient information on registrations.
  • Establishes and maintains open communication with all departments and interacts with and clinical staff in those areas. Pages Providers as needed in the ED and follow ups to assure callers are connected.
  • Assists in the shadowing and precepting of new employees.
  • Order supplies and assures sufficient stock for unit needs.
  • Answers internal and external phone calls. Assuring accurate response and follow up with each call.


Education Requirement:

High school graduate.

Associates degree preferred.

Demonstrated computer skills required with the ability to navigate most current technology systems.

Strong administrative skills required.

Excellent customer service and organizational skills.


Experience:

One year of previous health care experience preferred.
