Overview:


 

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.


 

Job Description Summary:


 

Provides transport and support for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the Department of Laboratory Medicine and their clients. Drives NCH provided vehicles for courier routes and on-demand jobs.


 

Job Description:


 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains schedule to complete routine and on-demand routes daily.
  • Handles pick-ups and deliveries from lab, pharmacy, homecare, referring hospitals, clinics, physician offices and outpatient centers. Documents all route information and pick-ups per department guidelines.
  • Evaluates and monitors weather conditions throughout shift to preplan for anticipated trips and delays throughout region.
  • Maintains safety of cargo and vehicle in accordance with hospital guidelines.
  • Assists in training of new staff and documents their progress per department guidelines.
  • Provides customer service in an efficient and effective manner to ensure customer satisfaction and quality patient care.


Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.


Licensure Requirement:

Valid Ohio driver’s license as required by hospital policy. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to use hospital provided cell phone and communication tracking system.

CONTINUOUSLY: Audible speech, Biohazard waste, Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Cold Temperatures, Color vision, Decision Making, Depth perception, Driving motor vehicles (work required) *additional testing may be required, Hearing acuity, Hot Temperatures, Interpreting Data, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Machinery, Peripheral vision, Problem solving, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 26-40 lbs, Repetitive hand/arm use, Seeing – Far/near, Working Outdoors
