Job description
We are seeking a Senior Low Latency Engineer to deploy, build, and operate ultra-low latency network infrastructure supporting high-frequency trading (HFT) and market data platforms. The role requires deep expertise in multicast market data distribution, TCP/IP stack behavior, packet-level analysis, and observability (Corvil/cPacket), along with strong experience in Cisco/Arista platforms integrated environments.
In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Infrastructure Production Management & Reliability Engineering position at the Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for maintaining the stability and reliability of the organization's infrastructure systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability to support business operations.
What you''ll do in the role:
Market Data Connectivity & Trading Network Engineering
Actively participate in design/engineering decision, deploy and support low-latency market data infrastructure (multicast, exchange connectivity)
Optimize high-speed data delivery pipelines and ensure deterministic performance for trading systems
Engineer robust resilient architectures for real-time data distribution and failover
Routing & Network Protocols
Design, implement, and troubleshoot routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP)
Optimize routing for low-latency, high-throughput trading environments
Manage route convergence, failover, and traffic engineering strategies
Multicast & Network Protocol Expertise
Manage and troubleshoot UDP multicast (PIM, IGMP), TCP/IP stack, and feed handler connectivity
Ensure efficient bandwidth utilization and low jitter/latency in high-throughput environments
Observability & Packet Analysis
Perform deep packet capture (pcap) analysis to investigate latency, packet loss, and feed gaps
Leverage Corvil/cPacket and similar tools to provide real-time visibility into trading and network performance
Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents impacting market data/trading systems
Low Latency Infrastructure & FPGA Integration
Work with FPGA-based network acceleration platforms used for ultra-low latency trading systems
Integrate FPGA, NIC offloads, and hardware optimizations into network architecture
Ensure alignment between hardware, network, and trading applications for microsecond performance
Network Architecture & Engineering
Design and maintain high-performance networks using Cisco and Arista platforms
