We’re working with a global multi-strategy tech-first fund (~$13bn AUM) where engineering is viewed not as a cost centre, but as a profit multiplier. Technology teams are embedded in the business, own what they build end-to-end, and deliver systems that directly affect how the firm manages risk, scales operations, and executes efficiently.

This role sits within Post Trade Technology, building platforms used daily by Operations, Treasury, and Compliance, while working closely with the front office. Engineers partner directly with users - including portfolio managers- and are responsible for the full lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, and iteration.

The hiring bar is high. This team is looking for top-tier engineers, and compensation is flexible for the right person.

The Role

Post-trade is where trading activity becomes operational reality: positions, cash, financing, lifecycle events, controls, and reconciliations. The systems built here sit on critical paths and need to be fast, reliable, and easy to reason about.

This role is approximately 70% Front End / 30% Back End, with the front-end work focused on building performant, data-dense interfaces used by business teams every day.

You’ll contribute to systems such as:

• Workflow automation platforms across post-trade operations
• Reusable UI component libraries to accelerate delivery and ensure consistency
• Operational and risk visibility tools surfaced through clean, performant UIs
• Data ingestion and integration pipelines with prime brokers and counterparties
• Shared firm-wide services used across multiple desks and teams

Ownership is expected, from understanding the problem through to production support.

Technology stack

This is a pragmatic, production-focused environment with a broad stack:

• Core Java (back-end services and business logic)
• TypeScript / React (UI-heavy development, data-dense interfaces)
• Python (tooling, automation, integrations)
• Kafka (event-driven and streaming patterns)
• SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres (relational data stores)
• Docker (containerised services)

Engineers are encouraged to propose improvements where there’s a clear payoff.

• The Post Trade Technology team is 15+ engineers, working closely with the business

• 5+ years professional experience with core Java and TypeScript/React (or equivalent)
• Strong SQL / RDBMS fundamentals (data modelling, querying, performance)
• Experience in a financial markets environment (buy-side or sell-side exposure)
• Comfort working directly with users to shape solutions
• Curiosity, pragmatism, and a desire to keep learning
