About the Role

Our client, TEGNA, is seeking a Senior Front End Engineer to join their team supporting a React-based platform designed for content creators. This platform enables users to Client, develop, and refine content ideas, serving as a core tool for content creation workflows.

This is a highly hands-on frontend engineering role (90% development) focused on building, maintaining, and enhancing a modern React application while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a React-based frontend application
• Translate UI/UX designs into high-quality, scalable code
• Work within and enhance an existing codebase
• Collaborate with designers, product, and engineering teams to deliver new features and improvements
• Support ongoing platform stability, performance, and usability
• Partner with offshore/overseas teams to ensure smooth handoffs and collaboration across time zones
• Make informed design decisions when specifications are incomplete or evolving

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with React and modern React technologies
• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Experience converting designs into production-ready frontend code
• Ability to work within an existing codebase and contribute to ongoing development
• Experience collaborating across distributed teams and time zones
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to fill in gaps when requirements are unclear

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Familiarity with Figma or design tools
• Experience working on content platforms, media, or creator tools
