We are looking for a technically curious and execution-focused Product Marketing Manager - Microsoft Defender (SOC). This role is an opportunity to shape how we position and bring to market our comprehensive threat protection capabilities, working across a dynamic and collaborative team. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role for someone who thrives on diving deep into product strategy and technical innovation. You’ll work closely with product management to understand how Defender works under the hood—then translate that depth into clear, differentiated messaging that resonates with security decision-makers and practitioners.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute go-to-market strategies for Microsoft Defender, including launch planning, messaging, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Partner closely with product management to deeply understand product capabilities, roadmap, and technical differentiators.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into compelling, customer-facing narratives that clearly communicate Defender’s value in the threat protection landscape.
  • Develop high-impact content such as customer presentations, blogs, videos, and sales tools to support demand generation and field enablement.
  • Collaborate with sales, partner, and customer success teams to deliver training, enablement materials, and competitive insights that drive adoption and engagement.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on customer needs, use cases, and market trends in threat protection.
  • Leverage AI-powered productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to streamline content creation, campaign execution, and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in business OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 2+ years experience in business OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in business OR Bachelor's Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in business OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably in cybersecurity or enterprise software.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage deeply with technical product teams and translate product innovation into differentiated messaging.
  • Strong understanding of threat protection domains and the evolving security landscape.
  • Proven success in developing and executing go-to-market strategies and product launches in fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for both technical and business audiences.
  • Highly collaborative, with experience working across product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for helping customers solve complex security challenges.
  • Experience using AI-powered tools to enhance productivity and scale marketing impact

Product Marketing IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $86,100 - $169,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $113,300 - $187,400 per year.
