Job Description
As a Legal Professional in the infrastructure, energy, or oil & gas industry, your role will involve the following responsibilities:
- **Litigation Management:**
- Track legal disputes received from relevant departments and seek guidance from the Function Head on next steps.
- File criminal complaints against offenders where applicable, subject to prior approval.
- Draft pleadings for RoU-related matters in coordination with the RoU team, concerned departments, and senior management.
- Conduct legal research on applicable rulings, obtain senior management's approval before filing plaints or petitions, and support in drafting rejoinders.
- Collaborate with external counsel to prepare pleadings for matters before courts and appellate authorities.
- Follow up with advocates to ensure timely filing of applications and responses, and monitor progress until final disposal.
- **Drafting, Responses & Documentation Review:**
- Prepare responses to various notices and actions (e.g., advocate notices, complaints, show cause notices, orders from authorities), escalating complex matters to the Function Head.
- Coordinate with concerned departments to gather inputs and finalize replies to summons.
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, undertakings, indemnities, and other legal documents (e.g., transportation agreements, crossing agreements, hookup agreements, framework agreements, lease and leave & license agreements), escalating complex amendments when required.
- Collect data, prepare routine MIS reports, and support the Function Head in compiling information for legal-related adhoc requests.
- *Qualifications Required:**
- A law degree from a recognized institution.
- Extensive experience in legal roles within the energy & natural resources industry, particularly in the Oil & gas sector.
- Proven ability to handle contracts, compliance, and litigation matters, Land acquisition etc.
- Experience in the Oil and Gas industry involving extensive land acquisition and litigation matters.
- Proficiency in Telugu/Kannada languages is a must.
