Job description

As Salesforce Application Developer, you’ll support a Salesforce-centered modernization and digital transformation program. This role will design, develop, and deploy scalable, user-centered applications that improve mission outcomes, automate business processes, and accelerate operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will operate within an AI-driven engineering environment, leveraging agentic development tools, AI-assisted coding, intelligent testing, and modern software delivery practices to rapidly build and modernize mission-critical Salesforce applications. This individual will be part of a high-performing development team responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and innovative Salesforce solutions using a combination of traditional engineering expertise and AI-enabled development capabilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain Salesforce applications that support mission-critical business processes and modernization initiatives.
  • Build and maintain custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, Platform Events, APIs, and declarative platform capabilities.
  • Develop scalable workflow automation, business process improvements, and user-centered applications within Salesforce.
  • Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce, enterprise applications, data platforms, and external systems using APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures.
  • Develop reusable components, services, and automation frameworks that accelerate development and improve maintainability.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, UX Designers, Scrum Masters, DevSecOps Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality Salesforce solutions.
  • Utilize AI-assisted and agentic development tools to accelerate software delivery, automate repetitive engineering tasks, improve code quality, and increase developer productivity.
  • Partner with AI-enabled engineering agents to support code generation, testing, documentation, debugging, refactoring, and deployment activities.
  • Leverage modern AI development platforms and intelligent engineering workflows to accelerate feature delivery while maintaining security, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, analytics, and operational insights using Salesforce reporting and CRM Analytics capabilities.
  • Ensure solutions align with security, governance, accessibility, compliance, and platform best practices.
  • Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, peer reviews, testing, demonstrations, and continuous delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on AI-driven software engineering, automation, development acceleration, and engineering excellence.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and continuously improve Salesforce applications, integrations, automations, and platform performance.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and emerging Salesforce capabilities to improve mission outcomes and user experiences.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Must be local to the DMV area with the ability to support onsite requirements in Washington, DC.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I Certification.
  • 3–5 years of experience developing Salesforce applications in enterprise environments, including demonstrated experience developing and deploying Salesforce solutions.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flows, Platform Events, APIs, and overall Salesforce platform customization.
  • Experience building and deploying enterprise Salesforce solutions using modern software engineering practices, including workflow automation, business process solutions, and user-focused application development.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise systems using APIs, middleware, and cloud-native patterns, with experience supporting Agile software development teams and continuous delivery environments.
  • Experience working within AI-assisted development environments, leveraging tools such as coding assistants and automated testing platforms, with an understanding of Salesforce security, governance, and modern AI-driven software engineering practices.

SALARY RANGE: $125,000.00 - $145,000.00   

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including: 

  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
    • Referral bonuses
