POSITION OVERVIEW
We’re seeking a Systems Engineer to support a secure, mission-focused environment for a federal program. This role combines systems administration, Kubernetes-based deployments, and data platform support in primarily on-premise environments.
You’ll work closely with a small, collaborative team to maintain and improve systems that support data processing and delivery workflows. While some exposure to geospatial data is helpful, candidates do not need deep geospatial expertise to be successful in this role.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in Linux systems, containerization, and Kubernetes, who enjoys solving complex operational challenges in a secure environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Support and maintain on-premise infrastructure and Kubernetes environments
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Helm
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability and performance
- Manage access controls, configurations, and system security in accordance with program requirements
- Assist with CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying applications
- Work with data processing workflows and services (including geospatial data where applicable)
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to enhance system capabilities and efficiency
REQUIRED
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance (required)
- Experience with Linux systems administration
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Experience supporting applications in a secure or regulated environment
- Basic scripting or programming experience (Python preferred)
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (GitLab, Jenkins, or similar)
DESIRED
- Experience with geospatial tools or data (GeoServer, PostGIS, GDAL, etc.)
- Familiarity with Helm, ArgoCD, or GitOps workflows
- Experience with container security or vulnerability remediation
- Exposure to infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)
- Experience working in classified or air-gapped environments

Pay: From $130,000.00 per year
