Overview
Media Profile is seeking a Corporate Communications Consultant to support the growth of our automotive client’s corporate communications function. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of proven experience, be a strong writer and communicator, and be comfortable working across content development, media monitoring, social media management, project management, and reporting. This role is located within our client’s office in Markham and requires on-site presence four days per week.
The successful candidate will work closely with client stakeholders and agency team to support a range of corporate communications initiatives, including internal programs, storytelling, and reputation-focused programs. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience in the automotive sector is an asset, but a strong interest in the industry is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Content development & communications support
- Support the Corporate Communications team on the creation of storytelling materials aligned with brand messaging
- Draft external and internal communications materials like intranet stories, event communications, presentations, leadership messaging, contributed articles and announcements
- Comfortable with technology and technical subject matters
- Support executive communications, thought leadership and issues/crisis management
- Deliver editing support on success stories for corporate intranet posts, speakers’ notes, and presentations
- Ensure messaging aligns with broader brand and corporate communications strategies
Social media coordination, listening & community engagement
- Support social listening, monitoring, and community management to identify emerging issues, track sentiment, engage audiences, and escalate inquiries as appropriate
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams and agency partners on corporate social media content creation and posting
- Support alignment of social media activity with broader corporate communications priorities and campaigns
- Assist in maintaining content calendars and ensuring timely execution of posts
Campaign collaboration
- Assist with planning and execution of ongoing corporate campaigns and internal engagement initiatives
- Coordinate materials, timelines, and approvals for campaign-related communications
Monitoring, Reporting & Analysis
- Assist with tracking media coverage and social activity related to corporate communications initiatives
- Track internal engagement metrics and feedback to inform future communications planning
- Support development of performance reporting and analysis for communications programs
- Identify trends and insights to inform future communications planning
Skills & Attributes
- Strong writing, editing, and content development skills
- Excellent organizational and project coordination abilities - coordinate timelines, approvals, and stakeholder inputs
- Ability to analyze information and translate insights into clear reporting
- Familiarity with social media platforms and monitoring tools
- Corporate and collaborative mindset and ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders, both in Canada and the U.S.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Media relations experience, including story development an media outreach, responding to inquiries
- Photography and video capture
- Issues management and media relations are an asset
- Ability to work with external vendors
- French language an asset
Education
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline
- Postgraduate certificate or diploma in Public Relations or Corporate Communications is considered an asset
- Equivalent experience will be considered
Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000
