Role Description The AI native Forward Deployed Data Scientist is a full-time hybrid role based in Boston, MA, with flexibility for some work from home. We are seeking to fill multiple positions for this unique role. This role involves working closely with Life Sciences, BioPharma, client stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes through data driven decision science - specifically in Rare Disease subject matter expertise. You should have demonstrable experience in translating business problems into analytic and AI /ML use cases, and rapidly build, deploy, and iterate on data-driven solutions.

Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing data pipelines, developing machine learning, deep learning and generative AI models, creating analytical insights with conversational and explainable AI, and stitching them into a narrative that drives business to action creating measurable business value.

The role requires hands-on work in platforms such as Palantir Foundry, Databricks and Snowflake and leading cloud environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and presenting technical findings to non-technical audiences. The Forward Deployed Data Scientist will also contribute to best practices, reusable assets, and educational content that help scale AI and analytics solutions across client organizations.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Data Science and Machine Learning skills, including model development, evaluation, and deployment - with solid first principles foundation in Statistics and quantitative analysis skills for experimental design, hypothesis testing, and inference.
• Core subject matter expertise in at least 2 or more rare disease indications having worked in Real World Data such as open and closed claims data, electronic health records data, genomic sequencing data, clinical trial evidence, respondent level primary market research data - deep understanding of clinical setting and referral pathways - experience in Nephrology is a plus
• Experience with generative AI powered coding, building harnesses around generative tools like Claude Code, Cortex Code, AIP is a plus
• Core Data Visualization skills to build clear, compelling dashboards and visual narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deep Expertise in Python or similar languages, SQL, and modern data platforms (e.g., Palantir Foundry, AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks)
• Background in deploying AI/ML solutions in production, including MLOps practices and working with APIs and microservices, is preferred.
• Comfort working directly with clients, gathering requirements, and communicating complex concepts in a clear, concise manner with excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills is essential.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (STEM).
