What You’ll Do

We are looking for curious, self-starters to support the identification, onboarding, and ongoing support of a diverse customer base. In this role, you will identify potential customers and support initial outreach efforts.

Reading and evaluating industry information from different news sources, market reports, and industry publications to understand a diverse customer base spanning many industries.
Assessing leads generated from a range of internal and external resources to help identify new customers.
Introducing new customers to McMaster-Carr by sharing information about our products and services via email, phone, or in-person visits.
Building long-lasting relationships by anticipating needs and responding to each customer's unique preferences.

Cash Compensation

Total cash compensation ranges from $103,000 - $118,000 annually, which includes annual cash profit sharing based on company profitability.

Who You Are

A bachelor's degree is required for this role.

Evaluative Research Skills: Assess existing publications and research to become subject matter experts on the industries, customers, and economics of specific regions in the western United States.
Analytical Insight: Evaluate the scope and scale of industrial activity at businesses and use good judgment to identify marketing prospects.
Resourceful Problem-Solving: Learn new technology, be resourceful, and work efficiently to solve problems.
Effective Communication and Relationship Management: Nurture relationships with various customer types through compelling email messages, engaging phone calls, and occasional customer visits.
Detail-Oriented Writing: Write detailed summaries of each region prospected and maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of findings and customer interactions.
Collaboration: Share insights and collaborate to achieve successful outcomes.
