Based in Madrid in Spain

Security Clearance: Spanish Citizen or dual national

Must speak fluent Spanish with fluency in English (C1 Level)

Salary: depending on experience

Homeworking: 5 days per month

The opportunity:

Are you passionate about complex defence systems, cutting-edge technology, and international collaboration?

MBDA España is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Technical Team in Madrid, supporting the definition, development and integration of current and next-generation Air Defence Weapon Systems.

In this role, you will work at the heart of system design and integration, contributing to the delivery of advanced defence capabilities that meet national operational requirements while leveraging state-of-the-art technology.

You will collaborate with customers, international partners, and subcontractors, building strong technical relationships and helping shape innovative system solutions within a truly multinational environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to the definition, development and integration of advanced Air Defence weapon systems
  • Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and modern product development tools
  • Lead or support system studies, trade-off analyses and technical assessments
  • Participate in system certification activities and design verification
  • Develop and manage interface control documentation (ICDs)
  • Support environmental engineering activities from requirements capture through proving and certification
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers and international stakeholders throughout the programme lifecycle

What we're looking for from you:

  • Experience in engineer systems, sub sub-systems and test and integration programs. Processes and lifecycle. Weapon system knowledge, desirable. (Aircraft Integration, Naval Integration, Ground/Land Integration, Interface Design, System Assessment & Acceptance, Design Verification)
  • Determination: day by day problem solving in different system for relevant projects with our Defence Force. Specification and design, systems performance analysis, systems architecture, concepts studies, and systems validation.
  • Communication: reporting and co-operation with internal and external partners
  • Assertiveness: continually seek ways to maximise on opportunities and improvements
  • Qualified in Aeronautic/Aerospacial/Industrial/Telecommunications Engineer or Master Degree equivalent with expertise in mechanical design.
  • Spain and European Travel
