Construction General Labor

Matern Staffing is hiring a Residential Construction Laborer for a growing residential construction company in Fredericksburg, VA. This hands-on role supports residential building projects by assisting with site preparation, material handling, cleanup, landscaping, and general construction tasks to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. If you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a team that builds and improves homes, this could be a great opportunity. This is a full-time position.

Salary:

$16-$18/hr

Schedule:

7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday with some Saturday hours possible

What You'll Do

• Assist with residential construction projects and support skilled tradespeople
• Load, unload, and move materials throughout job sites
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Perform landscaping, site maintenance, and erosion control repairs
• Support supervisors with project completion and punch-out tasks
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines

What You'll Need:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Reliable transportation and a clean driving record to travel to job sites
• Previous construction or general labor experience preferred
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools
• Ability to read, follow instructions, and work effectively as part of a team
• Good communication skills and understanding of English
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods
