Role Description The Underwriting Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad. This position supports the underwriting team by collecting and reviewing client information, preparing documentation, and assisting in the evaluation of risk for various insurance policies. Day-to-day responsibilities include preperation of RFQ, Negotiating Terms with the insurance companies, Cordinating with clients for missing or additional information. The Underwriting Assistant helps prepare quotations, summaries, and reports, and ensures compliance with guidelines and regulatory requirements. The role also involves working with team members to resolve queries, follow up on renewals, and contribute to efficient and accurate underwriting operations.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, documentation, and record keeping.
• Ability to analyze basic financial and risk-related information, and interpret policy terms and conditions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with clients, insurers, and internal teams.
• Proficiency with office productivity tools (such as spreadsheets, word processing, and email) and comfort working with digital records.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple cases, meet deadlines, and follow structured processes.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in commerce, business, finance, or a related field preferred.
• Prior experience or internship in insurance is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Willingness to learn underwriting practices, regulatory norms, and insurance products, and to work collaboratively in an office environment.
