Job Description
Project deliverables:
The services and deliverables to be provided by the Vendor will include the following:
- Providing Oracle database support to project teams
- Build Oracle database Infrastructure in Azure Cloud
- Provide ongoing support to all non-production and production database environments
- Refreshing the non-production databases from production data
- Tune all Oracle instance components including SQL and PL/SQL
- Provide data migration and data extract support
- Realtime data replication using Oracle Golden Gate technology
- Provide high availability using Active Data Guard technology
- Control access permissions and privileges
- Maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
- Test and enable new database features and customize them as per requirements
- Install, configure, and test Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) grid agent
- Provide performance tuning and optimization of Oracle databases
- Provide database documentation, including standards, procedures, and definitions
- Monitor and ensure CPU, memory, I/O, and storage are functioning as expected
- Collaborate with the project manager, IT leads, database administrators, project teams, and vendors
- Support deployment and release activities
Requirements
Experience and Skill Set Requirements:
Must Have:
- 10+ years experience with Azure Cloud and Oracle Database 19c and technologies including, Data Guard, Automatic Storage Management (ASM), Oracle Wallet, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) on RedHat Linux platform
- Working knowledge of new features such as Oracle Multitenant option, Oracle Active Data Guard Far Sync, in-memory database, information lifecycle management enhancements, and new data types
- Experience with tuning all Oracle instance components including SQL and PL/SQL
Skill Set Requirements:
Technical Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years experience with Azure Cloud and Oracle Database 19c and technologies including, Data Guard, Automatic Storage Management (ASM), Oracle Wallet, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) on RedHat Linux platform
- 2+ years of experience with Oracle Golden Gate
- Working knowledge of new features such as Oracle Multitenant option, Oracle Active Data Guard Far Sync, in-memory database, information lifecycle management enhancements, and new data types
- Experience with Oracle database upgrade and migration
- Experience with install, patch, and maintenance of all Oracle software
- Experience with tuning all Oracle instance components including SQL and PL/SQL
- Experience with installing and testing new versions of the RBMS and maintaining data standards while adhering to the Data Protection Act
Problem-Solving Skills:
- 5+ years experience with troubleshooting, problem solving, performance tuning, and hardware and system software infrastructure architecture design
- Proficient in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing solutions
Project Management Skills:
- 2+ years experience with project planning and execution
Soft Skills:
- Ability to communicate regularly with technical, application, and operational teams
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Proven track record for building strong working relationships
- A demonstrated team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
Public Sector Experience:
- Previous experience working within the public sector would be an asset
