Job Role: Vmware Engineer with Azure Cloud and vCloud Director

Location : Mississauga,Ontario

Primary Responsibilities

Support Assist with Cloud Platform onboarding tasks including multitenant organization VM provisioning configuration and maintenance of virtual machines firewall port validations and license activations using VCD platforms

Support security remediation efforts Application Patch and infrastructure lifecycle management eg VCD RDWeb OpenVPN Windows and Linux Work closely with Security teams to perform vulnerability scans and verify compliance protocols

Partner with the Global Security team for the deployment and validation of security tools such as Tanium Qualys and Defender on Windows and Linux systems Execute security remediation measures across Windows and Linux infrastructures addressing OS hardening vulnerability remediation and configuration compliance

Handle the lifecycle of certificates DNSNTP configurations and firewall rule requests FWRR for the platform Contribute to standardized deployments by leveraging golden image templates and automation scripts

Manage daily Incident INC tickets and Request for Information RITM tasks while monitoring servicelevel agreements SLAs through ServiceNow and internal dashboards Actively participate in daily and weekly standup meetings to oversee project migrations escalations and incident resolutions

Monitor the platforms performance health and availability ensuring alignment with established SLAs and operational benchmarks Provide support in incident handling service request management and change management through ServiceNow and internal tools Engage in performance optimization and monitoring using VROps tools

Play a role in ensuring audit readiness by aiding documentation efforts data validation and responding to auditrelated queries

Analyze repetitive operational tasks to identify and propose automation and efficiency improvements

Perform root cause analysis for recurring challenges and recommend as well as implement corrective measures

Keep infrastructure asset documentation uptodate including CMDB records Develop and maintain operational documentation such as standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT or a related discipline

Demonstrated expertise in IT operations systems administration or a comparable field

Solid understanding of virtualization technologies ESXi VCD vSphere NSX and cloud platforms AVS GCVE

Handson experience with security tools eg Tanium Qualys Defender and familiarity with compliance standards

Proficient in utilizing ServiceNow and additional IT management systems

Exceptional problemsolving abilities coupled with the capability to collaborate effectively within a different team

Strong communication skills and exemplary attention to detail
