Job Description

As an experienced Database Administrator with over 8 years of experience in administering database systems on the Mainframe platform, you are well-versed with Db2/IMS/IDMS on z/OS. Your proficiency in SQL, JCL, REXX, TSO/ISPF, and CICS is essential for this role. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, creating, and maintaining DB2 databases, table spaces, tables, indexes, and views.
  • Optimizing database performance and space utilization.
  • Executing routine tasks like LOAD, REORG, RUNSTATS, and RECOVERY.
  • Implementing strategies for data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
  • Assisting application teams with SQL issues, data refreshes, and technical advice.
  • Diagnosing and resolving database issues to prevent outages and slowdowns.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Strong analytical skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes.
  • Ability to provide inputs for Solutions (RFP/Q/I).
  • Secondary skills in Storage/Middleware administration or Operations would be an added advantage.
