Job Description
Application Health (AppHealth) is a new Product Risk Assessment initiative to provide greater visibility and assessment to the Cyber and Technology Risk aspects of LSEG’s in-service application estate. This capability will also be used to deliver business as usual regulatory oversight for Cyber and Technology Risk requirements.
Reporting to the Product Owner for Product Risk Assessment, this role will provide the engine of the AppHealth function. Working collaboratively with the LSEG Application Owner population, this role will:
Technical: Apply the AppHealth tooling and detection techniques. Support policy enforcement and response plans using insights provided by AppHealth. Understand root causes, challenge assumptions, and assist Application Owners by correct selection of secure design, secure pattern design and security architecture reviews.
Customer Focus: I consider customer needs in my work, contribute ideas to improve our product, respond quickly to operational issues that affect or risk affecting customers, and seek feedback with other Cyber and Tech Risk groups to improve how we work.
Risk Management: I conduct the Product Risk Assessment reviews which form the core of the role. I drive Product Risk Assessment reviews and evidence assessments. I implement incremental improvements and use the data provided by Product Risk Assessments to contribute to visibility of controls.
Leadership: Take accountability for delivering reliable work. I support and coach peers and share knowledge openly. I contribute to team outcomes by collaborating effectively and helping others succeed through trust and shared ownership.
Analytical: I apply structured thinking and data to review the responses to Product Risk Assessment responses, solve problems identified as part of the Product Risk Assessment activity, test assumptions, and learn from outcomes. I support team decisions through evidence, insight, and continuous improvement. Work with the AppHealth Product Owner to establish and systemise reporting on AppHealth’s results and outcome to the broad stakeholder groups within LSEG.
Adaptability: I continuously learn and adapt to new priorities, try different approaches, and share what works with my team. I make learning my craft a regular habit, not just something I pick up through daily work.
Communication: I contribute to team discussions and communicate clearly with peers. I share context, ask questions and help the team align around shared work.
The AppHealth initiative is currently in the early stages of operation after successful trials, with a defined future demand and enhancement runway and developing target operating model. This includes both technology and greater alignment with the Group’s corporate planning function; providing insight and feedback on targeted risk reduction activity.
This role is within a broader Security Architecture team comprising the Secure Design group. Other teams within the Security Architecture function work with engineering teams; with a separate group delivering a formal control function for Security Architecture. As outlined above, an element of this role is to assist with connecting the outputs and outcomes of Application Health assessments with inputs to other Engineering teams, providing a feedback loop to enhance the Group’s overall security and technology risk posture.
