Remote Security Engineering Manager

We are seeking a Security Engineering Manager to lead and develop our team responsible for securing cloud and application environments.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Leading, coaching, and growing the Security Engineering team, including Cloud and Application Security Engineers
• Designing and implementing security controls across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
• Embedding security into the software development lifecycle through threat modeling, architecture reviews, and automation
• Managing security monitoring, incident response, and compliance efforts aligned with standards like SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001, and NIST
• Developing metrics, policies, and procedures to communicate security posture and improve defenses
• Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure secure system design and deployment
• Recruiting, mentoring, and retaining high-performing security professionals

Qualifications And Skills

• Proficiency in AWS security services, Terraform, GitLab, CI/CD security practices
• Deep understanding of cloud security architecture, IAM, data security, and secure SDLC
• Experience leading or partnering with Application Security efforts
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks and security standards
• Strong communication skills to explain risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• 5+ years in cybersecurity, with experience securing AWS and cloud-native systems; prior leadership experience required
• Relevant certifications like AWS Security – Specialty, CISSP are a plus
