Job Overview:
The Alts Trading team is responsible for executing all Alternative Investment trades with operational excellence and continual risk-mitigation as we assist Advisors with entering trades, resolve difficult issues in a timely and well-communicated manner while working to prevent repeat scenarios, and partner across the firm to develop and implement more automated technology within this product space. This person will be willing and able to teach and learn from peers, take direction yet be a self-starter, and must display strong multi-tasking abilities.
This Associate must be passionate about customer service and innovative problem solving as they collaborate with teammates, our advisors and their clients to create a more efficient and transparent Alternative Investment trading experience. With a hunger for learning and applying new skills, this Associate must be a detailed big-picture thinker as they work through complex situations to find long-term solutions, considering risk and compliance as they teach our Advisor how to do AI business at LPL Financial. This Associate should be well spoken, an active listener, and be able to maintain working knowledge of several complex products and operational details at once.
Responsibilities:
Work in a call center environment, handling an average of 30 calls per day from Financial Advisors and their assistants, clients, sponsor companies and third party callers. Participate in coaching sessions to ensure accuracy of information and best practices for the service line.
Make outbound calls to assist Advisors and clients regarding purchase or redemption items
Understand and help educate callers on the various product types offered on the Alternative Investment platform, differences between products, fees, and basic risk associated with each investment type
Educate Advisors and their clients on all processes related to transacting AI purchases and redemptions. Consistently provide up-to-date and accurate information including document requirements, SLAs and deadlines to mitigate the risk of missed trades. Anticipate Advisor and client needs by providing next steps, best practices, and resources for education in the AI space
Maintain a working knowledge of the team’s operating procedures. Complete all operational responsibilities according to established procedures, understanding the risk and downstream impacts for Advisors, clients, and LPL as a firm.
Work through complex situations to understand the root cause of a problem, work with Service Consultants and management to determine the appropriate solution, and implement said solution. Provide any assistance or education required to mitigate reoccurrence of the same error
Escalate complex matters to Service Consultants or management when appropriate, staying apprised of developments and acting as the point-of-contact for the advisor or client until resolution
Perform QC on completed items and provide peer-to-peer feedback as necessary, also accepting peer-to-peer feedback from teammates
Routinely review established operations to assess efficiency and risk mitigation. Present ideas to management and assist in implementing any changes or new procedures accordingly
Attend and contribute to all team huddles and meetings
Maintain daily and weekly reporting
Escalate to Service Consultant or management any technology issues or delays, other mistakes and errors, and any other items that might present operational, financial, or reputational risk to the firm
Assist with testing for our Order Entry platform, AI Database, and any other items as assigned
Contribute to special projects as assigned

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 2+ years equivalent experience
2+ years of Customer Service experience and the ability to demonstrate operational excellence
