Job Description

About the position Collaborate on system design activities with the lead systems engineer and other engineering staff, including supporting technical reviews. Perform requirements analyses and establish traceability using the system model and DOORS (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System). Review requirements, their allocation, and market studies. Perform modeling and design of system architecture, including model-based systems engineering (MBSE). Own the automation of MBSE processes. Manage and implement changes to the system design. Create the design documentation. Apply systems engineering processes and best practices. What you bring to the role Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field. Ability to obtain a NATO Secret security clearance in a timely manner. Additional desired skills Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical engineering and management staff and with related task personnel. Ability to solve difficult problems within a team environment. High degree of initiative and autonomy. Strong capacity for learning. Ability to adapt and perform in a dynamic environment. Experience with Agile methodologies. Experience with JIRA. Programming knowledge: Java or Python. Experience using APIs and reading JavaDocs. Knowledge of the defence industry. Good understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle. Language requirements (Quebec) Knowledge of English is required for this role so the candidate can perform all duties. The position requires daily communication with a virtual team outside Quebec and with organizational members, clients and suppliers located outside Canada. For engineering positions, the candidate must also be able to read or modify technical documents from our major clients and prepare technical documentation for those clients.
