Job Summary
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will ensure the security and stability of our clients' AWS infrastructure. You will work closely with DevOps and Platform teams to ensure that large-scale production environments run smoothly and that our clients meet compliance requirements. You will also manage AWS storage solutions, monitoring and alerting, and backup and recovery processes.
Proven experience in running production environments for high-traffic web environments on AWS is an absolute requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Mitigate security non-compliances identified by Security Hub and other tools.
- Attend to AWS Request for Actions (RFAs) promptly and efficiently.
- Decommission infrastructure safely and ensure proper documentation and communication.
- Replace our current AWS “NAS” storage solution and provide ongoing support.
- Architect and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting across the new infrastructure.
- Improve our AWS backup and recovery processes to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Provide business-as-usual (BAU) support for AWS tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5-6 years of experience in AWS in a production setting.
- Experience with AWS tracing and analysis, including CloudTrail and X-Ray.
- Hands-on experience architecting solutions around AWS Storage, including S3, EBS, and Glacier.
- Strong understanding of AWS security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Experience with AWS monitoring and alerting tools, including CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
- Experience with backup and recovery processes in AWS.
- Familiarity with AWS networking and infrastructure components.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- AWS certification is a definite plus.
