We are looking for an experienced SAP BusinessObjects Production Support Engineer to provide L2/L3 support for SAP BO BI platforms. The role involves incident management, performance tuning, report troubleshooting, user support, and ensuring high availability of BI systems in a 24x7 production environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Production Support & Incident Management :

  • Provide L2/L3 support for SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform
  • Monitor daily batch jobs, report schedules, and data refreshes
  • Troubleshoot report failures, performance issues, and data discrepancies
  • Handle incidents, service requests, and problem tickets via ITSM tools (ServiceNow)
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes
  • Support month-end / quarter-end critical reporting cycles

SAP BO Administration :

  • User management (access provisioning, roles, security groups)
  • Manage universes (UNV/UNX) and connections
  • Manage Central Management Console (CMC)

Performance & Optimization :

  • Optimize slow-running reports and queries
  • Analyze SQL generated from universes
  • Work with DB teams for indexing and query tuning
  • Monitor BO server health and memory utilization
  • Perform cache management and server restarts when required

Deployment & Change Management :

  • Promote reports between Dev, QA, and Prod using LCM (Lifecycle Management)
  • Validate transport migrations
  • Maintain version control documentation
  • Support release activities and patch upgrades

Technical Skills Required :

Mandatory :

  • Strong experience in SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x, including Version upgrade from BO4.2 to BO4.3
  • Universe Designer (UNV/IDT UNX)
  • Central Management Console (CMC)
  • Hands on experience with BO IDT and BO UDT for universe configuration, maintenance, and upgrades
  • SQL (Advanced queries, joins, performance tuning)
  • Experience in production support (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
  • Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow preferred)

Tableau :

1. Design, develop and maintain tableau dashboards

2. Perform data source refresh as per the set cadence

3. Continuously optimize dashboards as per the business needs

Soft Skills :

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Ability to work in rotational shifts (if 24x7 support)
  • Documentation and knowledge base creation
