Job description
Leland is building the home for ambition in the age of AI. We connect people with the experts, programs, and communities they need to land the job, get into the school, or upskill for a world being rewritten by AI. We help businesses become AI-native through training, hiring, and infrastructure. Since our founding in 2021, we've helped tens of thousands of people reach their most ambitious goals and raised $19M from world-class investors. Ambition is sacred to us, and we've built a product that takes that seriously.
We're looking for a high-agency Ops Lead to run the engine behind Leland's live AI education programs.
You'll own the operational machine that makes our AI Builder Program https://ai.joinleland.com/ + other AI offerings best-in-class. If you're an AI-native operator who's organized, comfortable with chaos, and ready to work like a founder, we want you on the team.
The core AI education offering today is our AI Builder Program (5 levels, designed to help anyone build with AI). We're rapidly expanding to offer more specialized AI tracks and custom cohorts for companies.
You’ll be responsible for managing all day-to-day operations necessary to keep all AI education programs running. We expect you to have a consistent focus on improving the offering, driving real outcomes for customers, and on building an AI-first system that can scale.
What you'll be doing:
- Running cohort delivery end-to-end: enrollment, schedules, Slack channels, instructor handoffs, student comms, peer review, demo days. It's your job to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Owning the curriculum product: manage session guides, slides, and help docs from draft through shipping to the live system across multiple programs at once.
- Designing, creating, and improving curriculum materials
- Building your own AI-powered automations and workflows to move faster: Notion task boards, n8n flows, AI agents in Claude Code. If a workflow is manual, you automate it.
- Drafting student-facing comms in Leland's voice: emails, texts, Slack posts, reminders.
- Managing and coordinating instructors, TAs, and peer reviewers so they stay unblocked and on schedule.
- Screening, hiring, and onboarding new instructors and TAs
- Planning program operations weeks to months in advance, making sure we have the staffing, infrastructure, and curriculum needed to run programs.
- Teaching select AI education sessions so you understand what good instruction looks like and how to enable instructors to teach effectively.
Your qualifications:
- Entry-level through mid-level; 2 to 5 years of professional experience in product management, operations, education, AI, or project management
- AI-native operator who actively creates their own automations and uses AI tools to get leverage; not just a user, but a builder
- Strong ops and project management skills: Notion, project tracking, sequencing complex work, managing stakeholders effectively
- Education or instructional design background: you've built curriculum, run cohorts, and taught before
- Clear, confident writing: you can draft student-facing copy that sounds like a human, not a corporate blast
- Available full-time, in-person in the Lehi office (in-person every weekday)
Your identity:
- High-agency owner who sees a problem and fixes it without waiting for permission
- AI-native builder who actively creates automations to give yourself leverage
- Excellent writer and communicator, can manage both internal and customer communications
- Extremely organized operator who can manage dozens of moving pieces without letting anything slip through the cracks
- Scrappy and gritty, not afraid to do the unglamorous work required to ship a great cohort
- Clear thinker who can prioritize the right things and defend those priorities
Why Leland?
- Real ownership of the operational machine behind Leland's most important live programs
- Opportunity to work with and learn from experts at a high-growth startup with a deeply impactful mission
- A team that's AI-first by default; every workflow you touch can be automated, and we expect you to do it
- Direct path to growing your scope as we launch more programs and more cohorts
Reporting: Reports directly to Spencer Anderson https://www.linkedin.com/in/spencer--anderson/, VP of Ops, and will partner closely with Kristen Hansen https://www.linkedin.com/in/kristenshansen/, GM of AI Education.
WHY LELAND?
- The chance to join a world-class team helping people achieve their career and educational dreams
- Work in a collaborative, high-energy environment where your contributions have a direct impact
- Operate in a fast-paced, AI-native environment
- We don't hire people who merely want to work for a great company; we hire people who want to make a great company
