Job description
Who we are: Fairstone Bank and its family of brands are united in delivering innovative, accessible and reliable financial solutions that enable Canadians to reach their goals. Over the years, our brand family has grown. In 2024, Home Trust Company, Home Bank and Oaken Financial became part of the Fairstone Bank family of brands, alongside Fairstone, EdenPark and Fig. Together, we are the leading alternative lending bank in Canada. We have the collective experience and expertise to better serve our customers and foster our partners’ growth. With a diverse suite of products—residential and commercial mortgages, consumer deposits and GICs, credit cards, retail and automobile financing, personal loans and digital lending—we offer financial solutions tailored to all Canadians, including newcomers, small-business owners, smart investors and savvy consumers. Backed by nearly a century of lending experience through its legacy companies, Fairstone Bank and its brand family are proud to be Canada’s leading alternative lending bank. About the role: The Copywriter, Customer Engagement is responsible for creating compelling and brand-aligned copy across multiple marketing channels, collaborating with teams, tailoring messaging for diverse audiences, contributing to campaign ideation, proofreading, managing multiple projects, coordinating content reviews, and maintaining vendor relationships and invoicing processes. Responsibilities: Write and edit clear, engaging, and brand-aligned copy for a range of marketing materials — including promotions, social advertising, events and in-branch collateral. Own and manage multiple projects and competing deadlines, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard. Collaborate with designers, cross-funtional and product teams to develop and execute creative concepts that support business objectives. Tailor messaging for different audiences and brands while maintaining consistency and compliance with financial industry standards. Regularly contribute to campaign ideation and creative brainstorming sessions. Proofread materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with brand standards. Effectively manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with a positive, solutions-focused approach. Coordinate content through legal, compliance and translation review processes, ensuring timely approvals and keeping projects on track to meet deadlines. Maintain relationships with external vendors and process invoices. Approach each project with a proactive, positive and solutions-focused mindset — taking ownership and maintaining accountability for outcomes. What we’re looking for: 2–3 years of professional writing or content marketing experience, ideally in marketing, advertising, or a related creative field. A degree or a post-secondary diploma in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field and/or equivalent experience. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail. Comfort working within brand and regulatory guidelines. A curious mindset and willingness to learn about the lending industry and our customers. Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, analytical, problem solving, and issue-resolution skills. Proven ability to effectively work with team members, cross-functional teams and vendors. Comfortable leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows, enhance personalization, and optimize content performance, while staying current with emerging technologies to continuously improve messaging strategy and integrate innovation into daily work. Financial services industry experience an asset. French language skills an asset.
