Junior Software Engineer

About the Opportunity | ACTIVE TS/SCI REQUIRED

A mission-driven technology organization is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join a collaborative Scrum team within a fast-paced development environment. This role supports critical, large-scale systems and offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful, enterprise-level solutions. The selected candidate will participate in full lifecycle Agile development, working closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, integrate, and sustain complex software capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and coordinate Agile software development activities
• Design, build, document, test, and debug software solutions addressing mission-critical requirements
• Apply logical and mathematical principles to develop scalable and maintainable systems
• Implement established standards, processes, and tools across the full software development lifecycle
• Analyze system functionality to clarify program intent, output requirements, data inputs, processing techniques, and controls
• Identify and resolve program errors and performance issues
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Define, apply, and validate compliance with established software standards
• Integrate and support commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and open-source (FOSS) solutions

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Experience with Java development
• Proficiency troubleshooting across Linux/UNIX and Windows operating systems
• Strong diagnostic and analytical problem-solving skills
• Experience integrating and supporting COTS/FOSS solutions
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies
• Active TS/SCI clearance with a current background investigation
• Selected candidate must complete required crossover processing and receive program briefing prior to start

• Large-scale software development environments
• Developing, modifying, and troubleshooting Java code
• COTS integration
• Agile development experience, including familiarity with SAFe methodologies and enterprise tracking tools
