The term of this appointment will be a maximum of up to 24 months. All persons hired into Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions will be required to sign a term of employment letter specifying conditions of employment.

Hours of Work: 4/10's. 7am-6pm, Mon-Thurs.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a government or public sector environment and possess the ability to effectively manage multiple, ongoing assignments while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. This individual must be highly self-motivated, capable of working independently, and able to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to professionally interact with a diverse range of stakeholders; have the ability to resolve any issues in a timely and customer-focused manner.

INTRODUCTION: Human Resources will screen applications and supplemental questionnaires. Candidates possessing the strongest skills and experience for this position will be forwarded to the hiring department for further evaluation and to determine who will be invited to the formal interview process. The candidate hired will be required to pass a drug screening, background check and may be required to pass a job-related physical evaluation.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under supervision, performs routine data gathering and project analysis duties in support of administrative, financial, statistical and other management and legislative analyses applicable to departmental or District/SNWA activities, functions and programs while learning and applying management and administrative analytical practices and techniques; and performs related duties as assigned.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

Basic data gathering and analytical techniques; business computer applications, particularly as related to statistical analysis, data management and graphic design; basic functions of public agencies, including the role and responsibilities of a public governing board; principles and practices of business communication; correct English usage, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Ability to:

Organize work and set priorities; collect and interpret varied data, either in statistical or narrative form; maintain accurate records and files; coordinate multiple projects and meet critical deadlines; operate a computer and use PC word processing, graphics and database programs to develop reports, databases and other materials; communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing; understand and follow written and oral instructions; understand, learn, interpret, explain and apply District, local and state laws, regulations, policies and procedures; work independently without close supervision; exercise sound judgment within established guidelines; maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of the work.

Training and Experience:

A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent; courses in business administration, public administration or a related field; and three years of progressively responsible office experience that demonstrates the ability to learn and apply data gathering and project analysis techniques; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

A valid Nevada driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability under the District’s Vehicle Insurance Policy may be required for some assignments.
