Job description
We are seeking an experienced Onsite Quality Representative to support incoming quality inspections, supplier quality activities, and production monitoring within a high-technology manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will perform visual inspections, document quality findings, support source inspections at supplier facilities, and ensure products meet established quality standards.
This role requires strong attention to detail, experience with quality inspection procedures, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Incoming Quality Inspection
- Perform 100% visual inspection of incoming materials using established quality plans and inspection procedures.
- Screen and sort parts for cosmetic defects, contamination, cleanliness, and workmanship.
- Execute inspections using defined accept/reject criteria.
- Document inspection results including defect photos, pass/fail counts, and serial or lot tracking.
- Segregate and quarantine non-conforming material and support return material authorization (RMA) activities.
Production & Integration Monitoring
- Monitor assembly and production activities to verify adherence to quality standards.
- Observe manufacturing and testing processes to identify workmanship concerns.
- Report deviations, non-conformances, and quality issues to engineering teams.
- Track work-in-progress and provide daily quality updates.
Supplier Quality & Source Inspection
- Travel to supplier facilities to perform source inspections.
- Verify product quality and shipment readiness.
- Audit supplier inspection processes.
- Complete inspection reports and provide quality documentation following each visit.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
- Prepare quality reports, defect logs, inspection summaries, and supporting photographs.
- Track inspection results and maintain organized quality records.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in:
- Quality Engineering
- Quality Assurance
- Manufacturing Quality
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience preferred.
