Role Overview
L&A Scaffolding Ltd. is looking for a reliable, hardworking Driver to join our logistics team. This is a dual-role position: you will be responsible for the safe operation of our fleet vehicles and will play an active role in the manual loading and unloading of scaffolding materials. Whether you are behind the wheel or on-site, you are a critical link in ensuring our crews have the gear they need to build safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport & Delivery: Safely operate Class 3 (Tandem-axle/Flatbed) vehicles to transport scaffolding tubes, planks, and frames to various construction sites.
- Load Security: Ensure all loads are properly strapped, balanced, and secured according to transport regulations before leaving the yard.
- Heavy Lifting: Actively participate in the manual loading and unloading of equipment. This is a physically demanding role.
- Vehicle Inspection: Conduct Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections (DVIR) and maintain accurate logbooks.
- Site Professionalism: Communicate effectively with Site Foremen to determine the safest and most efficient drop-off points.
Mandatory Requirements
- Licensing: Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with a clean abstract and a willingness to upgrade.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to consistently lift and carry 50+ lbs (23kg) throughout the day.
- Safety Mindset: Ability to work safely in busy construction environments and wear all required PPE (Hard hat, steel toes, high-vis).
- Reliability: A track record of punctuality and a professional "can-do" attitude.
