Farm Equipment Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Farm Equipment Operator to join our team in maintaining and operating farm machinery and irrigation systems. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong mechanical knowledge and experience in horticulture and maintenance. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for safely managing heavy equipment, performing routine maintenance, and supporting agricultural operations to ensure efficient farm productivity.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery and farm equipment safely and efficiently, including tractors, augers, combines, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Use hand tools, power tools, and basic math skills to repair and maintain farm infrastructure
• Assist with harvest
• Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely to move materials or equipment around the farm
• Monitor equipment operation for safety hazards and report issues promptly
• Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times

Requirements

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment and farm machinery
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and perform basic math calculations accurately
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and operate equipment for extended periods
• Knowledge of farm maintenance preferred
• Strong attention to safety procedures and protocols
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Prior experience with heavy equipment operation is highly desirable
• Class 1A or recognized commercial driver's licence is an asset

Job Type: Seasonal

Contract length: 4 months

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 90 per week
