About the Role

This summer, we're offering a 16-week paid internship (starting May 2026) for a Web Development Intern. You'll get real hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting websites while working alongside experienced developers.

Candidates must be located in Calgary and currently enrolled in post-secondary school.

Responsibilities

• Build, customize, and maintain client websites using WordPress and Gutenberg.
• Support front-end development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design.
• Assist with back-end tasks including PHP, MySQL, and plugin implementation.
• Conduct QA, debugging, and troubleshooting of web projects.
• Implement on-page SEO best practices and monitor site performance.
• Collaborate with designers, content specialists, and marketing strategists.
• Learn and use Git/version control for project workflows.
• Participate in internal culture events—foosball tournaments, office games, and team lunches.

Candidate Profile

Experience / Skills:

• Familiarity with WordPress development (themes, plugins, CMS)
• Knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL/MariaDB, WordPress plugin development
• Exposure to Git or other version control systems
• Understanding of responsive design and website performance optimization
• Nice-to-have: Elementor, Divi or Shopify development experience
• Portfolio of websites/projects is a plus

Internship Details & Perks

• Duration: 16-week paid internship starting May 2026
• Compensation: $20.00 per hour
• Grant Funding: Eligibility: Must be a full-time student in a post-secondary program and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold refugee status. International students are not eligible.
• Potential Full-Time Opportunity: High-performing interns may be offered full-time positions with competitive salaries.
